Royalty Philosophy

Royalty Philosophy: Reciprocity, Provenance, and Remembrance

1. A Philosophy of Reciprocity

This policy places dignity and remembrance at the centre of value. Art is more than possession: it is a vehicle for cultural memory, mutual respect, and social continuity. Each contribution helps sustain new works and the living remembrance of those whose stories might otherwise fade. Through this reciprocity, art continues—beyond ownership—into shared purpose and enduring compassion.

2. The Artist’s Ongoing Connection

Each artwork by Bogdan Jensen (Authistical Art) embodies a living connection between creator, collector, and culture. As a work appreciates over time, the artist who gave it life should share in that growth.

3. Continuation Beyond the Artist’s Lifetime

This policy is designed to foster continuous support for remembrance projects and social initiatives by and for autistic individuals. In the event of the artist’s death, all resale royalties will be redirected to the foundation, NGO, or charitable organisation designated in his testament, dedicated to neurodivergent creativity and the memory of marginalised victims.

4. Transparency and Provenance

Collectors are kindly asked to notify the artist upon resale. This supports transparent provenance and preserves the work’s historical continuity within the wider story of Authistical Art.

5. Institutional Responsibility

Where resale occurs via a gallery or auction house, the institution is requested to withhold and transfer the royalty directly to the artist or, where applicable, the appointed foundation. Private collectors are invited to honour the same principle voluntarily, reinforcing fair and enduring recognition.

6. How Collectors Can Honour This Philosophy

Works by Authistical Art are released in the spirit of stewardship rather than simple possession. Collectors are therefore expected to honour a 10% resale royalty upon any future resale of the work. This applies to original artworks, signed limited editions such as prints or wooden panels, and digital or NFT derivatives linked to the originals. Where a resale takes place through a gallery or auction house, the institution is expected to support this principle in the handling of the transaction. Where local law provides for artist resale rights, that legal standard prevails.

7. Provenance and Continuity

Collectors are expected to notify the artist when a work is resold or transferred. This supports transparent provenance, preserves the continuity of the work’s history, and protects its place within the wider story of Authistical Art.

8. Continuation of the Philosophy

Should the artist no longer be living, collectors who wish to continue honouring this philosophy are invited to direct such contributions to the foundation, NGO, or charitable organisation designated in his testament, in support of neurodivergent creativity and the remembrance of marginalised victims.
