Historical Studies & Sketches

Historical Studies and Sketches brings together original works by Bogdan Jensen made in response to historical figures, images, and visual memory.

These pieces approach history through drawing and painting rather than illustration. Some works begin from archival references, portraits, or inherited images; others move through gesture, fragmentation, and reconstruction. Together, they look at how human presence survives through time, record, damage, and remembrance.

The collection reflects an interest in history from below: not only official narratives, but faces, bodies, and traces that remain vulnerable inside the image.

Each work is a one-of-a-kind original artwork, made with archival materials, hand-signed by the artist, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
